Hola! Here I am again, this time on day three. Yesterday, we arrived at the sloth center and first watched a video on the sloths. Then we got to see the adult sloths. One of them had a baby named Sky. Millie was the cutest, because she was the only one you could really see. There was also a sloth named Toyota. We went upstairs to see the babies and have lunch. The babies were sooo cute, and I just wanted to hold them!!! Lunch was chicken, really yummy mashed potatoes, carrots, and green beans. There was also this really pretty flower on the plate (that I kept!). For dessert, this really good ice cream with those straw cookies. I dipped them in my ice cream. One of the baby sloths had a stuffed animal, a giraffe, and when it was sleeping, it snuggled right next to it! Another of the babies put its claws on the end of the box and put its face up close to mine. We then went on a canoe ride, my group was the people shorter than Kristin’s shoulder :). We had the best guide, and saw basalisk, howler monkeys, lots and lots of crabs, all sorts of birds, and other exotic stuff like lizards. Saying goodbye to the sloths, we boarded the buses again and traveled to our hotel. I roomed with Katherine again, and we found a frog in our bathroom. Jorge came to take it out, with Alexa, Makena, and Lisa C. in our room too. We met at the restaurant at 4:30 and went to the beach with some turtle experts who had brought two turtles. We first held one (we named him Slappy, because he kept slapping his flippers, hitting himself), then we took both of them out and raced them to the water, where they would be let free. The other turtle was named Fred, and he lost to Slappy. After wading in the clear, Caribbean water, we went back to the restaurant and watched a presentation about turtles. Then we had dinner. Katherine and I went back to our hotel room to find the shower broken. We were moved to another room because of it. Today we were woken up 15-30 minutes earlier than needed because of the howler monkeys, which we howling right outside our window. We went to breakfast, which the best thing was hash browns. We are now on the bus going to canoe to the Bribri tiribe. Needless to say, there are many animals in Costa Rica, annoying and cute.
P.S. Mom and Dad, I forgot my camera in the hotel room for today, Day three, but I can always get pictures for this day from either Corey or Katherine.
