It’s all worth it!

Today is the first full day in Costa Rica and it has already been worth it.  The dynamics of this group is like a family.  We have 30 students and 10 adults for those of you that were concerned about the student/teacher ratio and the safety of your children.

0ur day began early and we had a 3 hour bus ride…..but I was already on input overload before we had been traveling 45 minutes.  Your children are being  immersed in the history, culture and customs of Costa Rica.  We have a wonderful guide that shares tales of folklore and how cities and landmarks receive their names.  I was surprised at the interest and questions the kids asked even about the simple process of how bananas are grown, harvested and protected.

We have witnessed breathtaking views, captured unbelievable moments in time, and have partaken in food and experiences that will last a lifetime.  Your children have made you proud and will return changed.

This afternoon we had the opportunity to spend a little time at the beach.  We just got to have fun and let the boys be little boys.  But it was all summed up and made it worthwhile when one of my students wallked up, placed his hand on my shoulder and said “Thanks” Thank you Ms. Taylor for bringing us here.  It is truly incredible.
